IRONMAN Lake Placid 2025

It rained at IRONMAN Lake Placid 2025. This is not in dispute. The mountains above the village held onto the clouds the way serious triathletes hold onto their finishing numbers — with both hands and a great deal of personal conviction. On the day in question, the Dr. Lap Triathlon Club deployed two athletes into those mountains. Everyone survived the downpours. Everyone also survived the heavy pours that followed, in what club historians have agreed to describe as a great weekend staying in the mountains.

Kristen “2 Gearz” LaRue finished fourth in her category. The club observes that sentence for a moment before moving on, as it deserves to be observed. Fourth. In a field of elite triathletes who had presumably trained with some regularity, Kristen finished fourth. The Club has certified this result. No further comments are available at this time, as the Club is still composing itself.
